Wow.

Connect Rome’s first preview service this morning was FAT. Our launch team is the best in the southeast in my opinion. We worked like animals to make it Simple for People to Connect to God and each other. I don’t have the energy to post anything more tonight but I will later this week. If you need more, check out http://www.JoshTalks.com, our pastor’s blog.

Our New Commander and Chief

I don’t think there has ever been a better time in our Nation’s history to be on our faces, seeking wisdom and guidance for our new Leader, for the American people, and for the future generations of the United States of America.  This is a pivotal point in our nation’s history and I strongly believe that starting today, America has the potential to transform into something we’ve never known living in our Free Nation.  But take heart, for we know that God is still in control.  Daniel 2:21 speaks to this: “He determines the course of world events; He removes kings and sets others on the throne.”

Devouring Life

24 10 2008

What is consuming your life right now?  I know in today’s fast paced environments, we’ve all had to develop a decent ability to multi-task.  What about work?  Are you juggling 20 different things in hopes they will pay off in the end and position you where you want to be?  What about those of you who work AND have a family?  Has one of these (probably family) taken a backseat lately?  Maybe your kids haven’t seen you in weeks.  Maybe you’ve missed a baseball game or ballet recital lately.  Or maybe it’s a healthy diet.  So many other things consume your mind that you don’t have time to stick to a healthy eating and exercise routine.  You see that you’re slowly gaining inches, but you ignore it and hope that they will disappear on their own.

We are ALL guilty these things.

Let’s all just take a few seconds here to own the fact of how important it is to SLOW down, breathe, evaulate where we are in our life, and know that what we do matters but not at the expense of other important aspects of living.

20 06 2008

I’ve been busy this week working on a promo video for Advance Rehab here in Rome.  My family leaves out early Saturday morning for Florida!  My second beach trip of possibly four trips this summer!  I’m gonna have an amazing tan by the time this is all over.  You wait and see.  I might even post pictures.  Actually I will.  This is me with no tan.

Father’s Day.

16 06 2008

Straight from WikipediaFather’s Day is a celebration inaugurated in the early twentieth century to complement Mother’s Day in celebrating fatherhood and male parenting, and to honour and commemorate fathers and forefathers. Father’s Day is celebrated on a variety of dates worldwide and typically involves gift-giving, and special dinners to fathers and family-oriented activities. In 2008, it will be celebrated on June 15 in most countries.

Today is the day we honor our Fathers.  Your dad might have be a loving, caring soul who raised you right and you know you’re all the better for it.  Your dad might have been a lousy, bottom-feeding, pathetic excuse for a lifeform who wasn’t a part of your childhood.  Your dad might have worked hard to make six figures and was able to provide you with your every need and every want but you didn’t have the kind of relationship you wished for.  Your dad might not have had the best job in the world, but he understood how important it was to build a good relationship with his family.

No matter where you come from or what kind of relationship you have with your father, take this moment to thank God for the love that He offers you as your heavenly Father.  He is the model for our father’s to press towards.  He is our Perfect Father when our earthly fathers fail.   He is Abba.  Papa.
